- Statement
- The original Ferry Ports dataset was created by the Scottish Government by surveying online timetables and maps from the individual service providers (e.g. Caledonian MacBrayne, Pentland Ferries etc.). A 2016 revision to the data made improvements by integrating information from the Traveline public transport dataset, which details ferry timetables and terminals aggregated from all ferry operators. All ferry terminals in the Ferry Ports dataset were checked and edited to ensure the terminals lay above the low water mark coastline and where possible link with the OS Highways road network (for accessibility purposes).
