- Statement
- The original Ferry Routes dataset was created by the Scottish Government by surveying online timetables and maps from the individual service providers (e.g. Caledonian MacBrayne, Pentland Ferries etc.). A 2016 revision to the data made improvements by integrating information from the Traveline public transport dataset, which details ferry timetables and terminals aggregated from all ferry operators. Ferry Routes were digitised against Ordnance Survey background mapping and are indicative only and may not represent the exact path travelled. Where possible, Ferry Routes link with the OS Highways road network (for accessibility purposes).
